 Education & Qualifications:

Gerard attended St. Jarlaths College, Tuam, County Galway from 1997 to 1982.

He graduated from University College Dublin with a BCL (Honours) degree in 1985.

Gerard was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1989 and qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Taxation in 1990.

Gerard is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, AITI (1990) and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.

Gerard founded Branigan Cosgrove Solicitors in 1993 and has worked in the firm since its formation and has 25 years PQE as a Practising Solicitor.

 

Legal experience

Gerard has considerable experience and advises clients in a wide range of areas of Corporate and Contract Law, drafting and advising on commercial contracts across a broad spectrum of industries to include the Hotel & Licensing trade, Sports, Health and recreational, Lending, insurance and financial services, property management and services; retail, information technology and others.

Gerard also have a vast knowledge of conveyancing law having acted in and advised on many commercial and residential transactions over the last twenty five years, including commercial sales and purchases, lending, taxation, stamp duty and VAT.

Gerard also has an interest in Freedom of Information, Privacy and Data Protection Law and is fully appraised of all recent developments in these areas to include the soon to be enacted Freedom of Information Bill 2013.

Gerard has also advised corporate clients on governance, procurement and compliance issues during the course of his 25 years as a practising solicitor.

Gerard has acted on behalf of private and corporate clients in the area of Public, Administrative and Constitutional law and has particular expertise in the area of Judicial Review.

Gerard has advised on all aspects of civil law and in particular multi-national insurance companies on product liability, professional indemnity, personal injury and building dispute claims.

Gerard also has extensive experience in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution and in particular Arbitration.

Gerard is also the owner and director of several successful businesses both in Ireland and abroad and  is able to use this commercial expertise  to benefit his clients.

 

General:

Gerard has a keen interest in all sports and is a Member of Elm Park Golf Club, Dublin 4 and Adare Manor Golf Club, Adare Manor Golf and Country Resort, Adare, County Limerick.

Gerard is a patron of the well known charity Operation Smile.

Niall Finnegan BA, LLB

Education & Qualifications:

Niall attended Gormanston College, County Meath from 1987 to 1989.

Niall graduated from the National University of Ireland Galway (then UCG) with a BA (Honours 2:1) degree in Law and Economics in 1992 and an LLB (Honours 2:1) degree in 1994.

Niall has worked with Branigan Cosgrove Finnegan Solicitors since January 1995 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1998 and worked previously with Guinness Group Sales from 1992 to 1995 in the sales and technical support areas.

Niall has 16 years PQE as a Practising Solicitor and became a partner in BCF Solicitors in 1998.

Niall is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.

 

Legal experience:

Niall has considerable experience in the areas of Corporate and Contract Law drafting and advising on commercial contracts across a broad spectrum of industries to include the Hotel & Licensing trade, Sports, Health and recreational, Lending, insurance and financial services, property management and services; retail, information technology and others.

Niall has extensive experience and knowledge of commercial conveyancing and provides panel services to a large financial institution in the provision of commercial mortgages and Niall has also acted for private clients, SMEs and public companies in the acquisition, disposal and leasing of commercial properties.

Niall has a wealth of experience in advising private, SME and publicly quoted clients in the area of Labour and Employment Law and has represented both employer and employee clients in the Labour, Circuit and High Courts and also before the EAT, Labour Relations Commission and the Equality Tribunal now under the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commission.

Niall has also acted on behalf of private and corporate clients in the area of Public, Administrative and Constitutional law.

Niall has advised on all aspects of civil law and in particular multi-national insurance companies on product liability, professional indemnity, personal injury and building dispute claims.

Niall has a particular expertise in the area of debt recovery and has advised private clients, SMEs and lending institutions on all aspects of Plaintiff debt collection work across the recently revised court jurisdictions.

Niall also has extensive experience in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution and in particular Arbitration and Mediation.

 

General:

Niall played inter-county football with Galway for 10 years and won numerous honours including an All-Ireland senior title in 1998.

Niall also played football for Salthill-Knocknacarra, NUIG and St. Sylvesters GAA Clubs.

Niall has a keen interest in all sports and is a member of Seafield Golf Club, Ballymoney, County Wexford and Adare Manor Golf Club, Adare Manor Golf and Country Resort, Adare, County Limerick and also plays squash and soccer and is involved in under-age soccer (FAI Football for All programme) with Cabinteely FC.
